So I just got my amp back from kbaudio:mad: and I got it all hooked up. It finally worked! so i go driving around for around 15 minutes and all of a sudden the sound stopped. I go back to look at it and there is no power to the amplifier. I checked to see if something had wiggled lose and couldnt find anything. Anybody have any ideas?

wow someone got something back from KBaudio at all? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

break out a multimeter and see if you get voltages to the amp power terminals....does it turn on at all? half way? make any noises when you apply power to it?

nothing at all... like it isnt getting power. It was working perfect before though and nothing has changed in the connections? There is also no burning smell or anything.

Did you check your fuses....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
i glanced at them and they all seemed to not be blown.. im going to take a closer look now.

yea... i feel like an idiot now. i checked the fuses on the amplifier but never took a close look at the MAIN fuse haha. that was it. should i be worried about a blown fuse? I had it bumping pretty hard so thats probably the reason. I need to get a thicker gauge wire too.

What size fuse is it, and what amp? The fuse may be too small, not allowing enough current for your amplifier, or there could be a short on the cable somewhere.

The amp is a Soundstream EGA900D... I have it running 900 watts at 1 ohm. I couldnt tell you the size of the fuse if I had to. I picked it up from a friend to get my system hooked up. What size fuses should i get?

I would use about a 60 watt fuse, should be plenty, and if you were bumping hard and the fuse popped, then it is to small, I would not stress it, I went through about 50 to 100 fuses this month, well I compete a lot but it is a normal thing for a fuse to blow if your bumping hard.
