Amp turn on?

My buddy has a Nissan Xterra with a 4 channel amp for his speakers which work good and then a little 2 channel amp to run his sub, i just tried to replace the little 2 channel amp with a bigger Lightning audio i had and it wouldnt turn on, so what im asking is that its possible the deck had enough power to turn on the 4channel and 2 channel amp but not the 4 channel and Lightning audio amp?

Have you tried powering the Lighting Audio amp by itself?

Well i had been using the amp 2 weeks before and it worked fine, so i figured it would still be good.

Well answer my question first, can the deck have enough power for the 4channel and 2channel but not the 4 channel and the Lightning audio amp?

Hell yea i run ATI amps, lol. Were talking like 5000rms at 2 ohms, l33t if i ever saw. j/k But i realize lightning audio isnt the best but right now hes running some 75rmsx2 amp for his sub and it aint poudning very much and im sure the lightning audio would be better.

Isnt there some little box you can buy to reamp the signal? What is that called?

i assume the h/u is an aftermarket...if so yes it has more than enough power to turn both on. it's a very low voltage signal to tell the amp to come on.
