AMP: MTX TA81001 (1500wrms @ 1 ohm)

Today when I tuned my amp again ( didn't trust myself the first time ) I was getting crazy voltage at the wire terminals, around 80v.. so I reset everything on the HU, turned it up 75% and started tuning. though this time, the voltage was doubled on everything. (this is with sw 15/15 on hu and everything else 0) I tuned it to 38.7 volts, i thought that should be fine... I went to play some music, and there is bairly any bass.

After that, I turned the sw 0/15 on deck, then tuned the amp, is that right?

Was the BB off on the amp? EQ flat? "Loud" turned off on the H/U?

****, yes bb is always off, eq was flat, but i ****ing forgot the loud on!!

only bad thing about this hu is you can't choose eq flat :/

- subwoofer on hu: at 0

- bass on headunit EQ: at 0

you're better off setting gains by ear.

sounds funny, but the DMM method REALLY isn't the best option, i've had better luck w/tuning my ear.

Everything has to be flat right, also once i'm done tunning, I can turn up the s/w and bass/treble on the hu right..

it's not a big deal that the EQ won't flatten out. just adjust your gains around the bass on the EQ.

dude, you can tell what the limits are.

just turn the volume up to normal listening level..

then adjust the gain accordingly.. watch it for a while.. & you should be fine.

ok. let me know how it goes. just be smart when you set the gain.

make sure your sub isn't bottoming out & such when setting it by ear.

btw after tuning i'll bump some hypnotize, that gets low
