Amp Troubleshooting

Every time my car is turned on the fuse gets blown it is a 30 amp fuse.

What things could cause this?

I have done hours of troubleshooting myself, I am at a loss.

Is the fuse in the amp, or inline with the power wire. If it's the power wire, maybe get a bigger fuse. 60 amp?

Thank you for the quick helpful informative replies. Someone had mentioned using a a 60 amp fuse. I have used a 30 amp fuse for two years it worked fine why would I need to change?

I uprooted all of my wiring. Found that my RCA cables were bad because somehow I managed to put a screw right through the center of the cables.

My power wire seems fine I checked every inch of the power wire I did not see anything grounding. Now it turns on but the minute the music hits the Amp goes into standby mode.

Some progress has been made I need more.

From the product manual it says to check these possible causes

1. Impedance too low Check speaker impedance

(Min 2 ohm Stereo, 4 Mono) How do I do this?

2.Speaker short Check speaker connection

for short circuit What does a short circuit in a speaker wire look like? How do I perform this step?

My success rate s 80%. My amp is now working. I have the left sub working, but the right is not responding. I know that it is not blown, because I did a battery pop test and it was responsive. Logic tells me that the terminals on the box are bad. Would you agree with this? . Now I am just running my amp to the left sub and it still sounds sweet loud deep bass. Any help is greatly appreciated. (what goes around comes around). Thanks

check the tensil leads on that sub that doesnt work and smell the amp if it smells like burn trash then you have a problem, and also check the connections to the sub and take the back off the amp and check the board for spilt over solder.
