Amp Trouble, IA 20.1 Blowing Fuses

C0CK,its whats for dinner
I just got an IA 20.1 in today, bought it from nG.

Here's my story...

The gain is all the way down, and my HU volume is all the way down as well. And when I turn the vehicle on, the amp will turn on (blue light) and then the sub was popping and pulled inwards all the way and then the fuse popped between the amp and batt. I changed out the fuse, checked ALL my connections, all my wiring, ran new speaker wires for the sub, ran a new REM, tightened my grounds and all that shit... I turned the vehicle on, and the same thing happened. By the way, I am using 100A ANL fuses... I rechecked everything and came up with no problems, any ideas?

I have PMed nG to see if he has any ideas, if it might be the amp itself or whatever. But I just wanted to see if there was something major I forgot to check..

Do you happen to know when he purchased the amp? Their website states they have a 2 year warrenty from the date of purchase...

Also, the 'do not remove' label for the warrenty on the amp is taped on, like it was removed and taped back on.....

they havent even been released for 2 years, but from what i understand the warranty is not transferrable..although, IA does take care of their customers...i doubt there is a problem with the amp tho..

as far as the warranty sticker goes, i had one come off when i pulled it across the carpet a second after i pulled it out the box brand new..just a bs sticker.

Equipement that gets praised on here will almost never be accused as the source of the problem, even though it really could be. Call it being biased. Take the amp out and hook another up in its place just to confirm its not the installation. If it works fine, contact the seller.

But with all volume all the way down, it shouldnt pull 100A and it shouldnt make the subwoofer do what it did...
amps this strong MIGHT draw initially quite a bit of current to 'charge up' the internals. IA recommends 200a...try that.

It only takes 1 stray clipped piece of wire on a board to cause trouble. The same goes for the connections.

I'm sure you've been told to unhook the amp and take it out of the vehicle, then re-connect it and see.

my thoughts, but don't listen to me, I run 'em direct.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Seen this problem before with other amps. Something on the board may be loose and causing DC to run through the amp to the sub. Try what Noah suggested since he is the seller, then try the other amp idea...someone contact Nick if the problem doesnt go away.
