Ok...Couple issues with an Amp and looking for advice.
For a few months I had the following combination in a little Chevy Aveo:
Sony 4/3/2-Channel Xplod XM-GTX6040
Sony Xplod XS-GTX120LW 12" Car Subwoofer
Infinity 629I 225W (Peak) 6-1/5 x 6-3/4 -Inch Two-Ways
The system sounded great at install (May) and got as loud as I desired....then...suddenly in July two things happened.
1. At high volumes I first got some clipping and then a amp reset.
2. Also...at low volumes, the amp would shut off....and if I turned it up again it turned on. (Using High Level input to turn amps on)
More info: I mounted the amp to the back deck between speakers....I noticed it was very hot....so I think it is probably a damaged amp. I since put a wood board inbetween the amp and the deck, with a 3/4 inch gap between the amp and the board. I still have the same issues. Do you think it is damaged too much, or that I have another issue with power or ground....In other words should I get the new amp and start over with the new mounting...and would that probably take care of both issues.
