i want to run 2 psi-8's...they are rated 600 watts, 2ohm dvc...what would be better a 1200 2 channel amp or a monoblock 600 watt amp?
600 per is not recommended. What happened to you running four of them per the other thread. Regardless of what you decided the takeaway in that thread is that 600 watts PER sub is recommended. Since you're going for 2 of them you would likely run a final two ohm load. So an amp that is rated for 1200 watts at 2 ohms would be just fine.
the cone wont move as much but it wouldnt be inaudible. A sub can be audible even with 50 watts if the enclosure design was efficient in the beginning.Your one of about 5 guys on this forum that I wouldn't argue with but if they're 600Rms drivers then don't they call for somewhere around 600
Watts rms from an amp. -\+ 100-200 watts may be inaudible or can be offset with enclosure adjustment but I can't see
Otherwise how my statement was inaccurate. But I'm always down to be wrong and learn.
