amp stopped working...

so on my way to work it was working and then all of a sudden stopped, thought maybe it was the fuse but that was good, so my question is....whats the tool i need to check to see their is power on the amp ffrom the remote wire???..thought you could stick something in there and it'll say if power is going to it?....work has all this stuff so i just figured id see what tool is needed...thanks
