Amp stopped working today. Possible ground problem?

While driving and listening to some Gorilla Zoe pretty loud, my amp cut out on me today. The power light on the amp is off. The iluminated Hifonics logo was still slightly lit, however.

No blown fuses.

Another amp that worked perfectly fine two months ago, until I put this one in, doesn't work either.

I didn't feel like drilling a hole in my cab, so I ran the ground to a seat belt bolt. Probably a shitty ground. But this wouldn't prevent the amp from powering up at all, would it?

Yesterday, I had my dash apart and was working underneath it to install a kill switch. Is it more likely that I disconnected the remote wire at some point?

I'll be buying a multimeter and checking everything out on Tuesday, but does anyone know what is most likely to be the problem?

if the remote was disconnected at any point the amp would completely shut off. it could possibly be a ground, when you work with bolts that dive into the chassis, you work with gray "putty" that house the bolts. not a direct connection. its best to drill. it could also be your power wires connection

I was thinking that would blow the fuse.

I know. Which is why I am thinking that is what happened.

I know what you mean about the ground. I was going to wait until my new box and sub are ready to go in, but I might as well fix it now.

Using a test light, I found:

-Power wire lights up (is getting power).

-Remote does not. But has no breaks or anything in it.

So I proceeded to drill a new hole for the ground, sanded around hole to bare metal. It's a perfect ground.

Then, for testing purposes, I ran a wire, from the amp's remote terminal, to the fuse for the radio. STILL DOESN'T FUCKING WORK. What is the problem here?

I have tried all three amps I own.
