Amp stability

I'd imagine it would go into protect. At worst, a component inside the amp would burn, causing some smoke. But no I don't think you'd be looking at another coming of Hiroshima or anything...

Indeed... likely a short poof of flames when a FET burns out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I would not suggest wiring a 1 ohm load to the amp unless you simply want to break it.

It's much cooler when the bottom cover is off the amp and they are mounting facing up *whistles* not that I've done that before... but it looks like a firework... you know, if you did something like that... in theory.

Everything's a learning curve, Jacob. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I've done more than a few n00bish things 'back in the day' before I knew better that I wouldn't ever in a million years do again.

But back when I first got into the hobby? Manoman...

The first piece of aftermarket audio gear I ever toasted was the 1st aftermarket HU I ever bought myself.

Apparently a headunit doesn't much care for a nominal 1 Ohm load being presented to each channel of its internal amp? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

(not that I knew back then why it fried but I do distinctly remember connecting 4 speakers [in parallel] to each output on the back of the deck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif)
