amp smoking

my friend came over and his amp is smoking at the input for the positive cable it is not a short in the line so i think it mite be in side, the amp is a Boss 500 watt, it gets real hot at the conection and is melting the plastik. IS his amp junk? or can it be fixed?

No offense, but I wouldn't put the money into fixing a Boss. Toss 'er in the trash and pick up a new amp. US Acoustics, Profile and the JBL BP series great budget amps that can be had for cheap.

yeah he let the smoke out of the that amp. let it go it is over. check www.millionbuy.com for a new amp. They have some nice ones.

the average life expectancy of a boss audio amp is about 12 hours . at least all of them that I have seen used. no offense but these are crap
