amp settings

these settings, do you have numbers or just hashes or what?

I set subsonic for just that below 20hz, maybe you can go with f3 of the subs?

LPF on my setup is set to 200 hz. the HU controls that. You can safely set it to 2 octaves above your crossover freq on your HU.

I run tones through the system and listen for attenuation to adjust freqs.

i have the bottom and top number and nothing in between lol, so i have to guess.

im not really sure what your saying, so just below 20 on subsonic, and i have no clue what you mean on the f3 part.

my HU is a deh4000ub, and ive never tweaked any settings on it before. so id rather just set it on the amp itself, considering the HU is a ***** to deal with (controls wise)

keep subsonic sub-sonic...below 20hz if you run sealed. for ported, look up the specs for your sub and f3 is one of the T/S parameters. It is below Fs and should be below tuning for ported enclosures and a good place to mark SS.

Low pass should be ABOVE the highest note you want to reproduce by the subs and is usually controlled via the HU and sub out crossover.

i dont see an f3, heres the specs

Electrical Q Value -Qes: 0.55

Mechanical Q Value -Qms: 4.3

Total Speaker Q Value -Qts: 0.49

Free Air Resonance -Fs: 22 Hz

Equivalent Compliance -Vas: 209 liters

One-Way, Linear Excursion -Xmax: 18 mm

Efficiency -SPL 1W/1m: 88 dB SPL

Effective Piston Area -Sd: 810 cm^2

DC Resistance -Re: 2.8 ohm

Nominal Impedance -Znom: Dual 2/4 ohm

Thermal Power Handling -Pe: 600 W

Force Factor -Bl: 17.7

and whats a good smaple place to put the low pass? i have no clue what the highest note i want to produce is

don't worry about f3 as the Fs is already down to 22hz. f3 is the freq that the sub output is -3db from Fs!!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

LPF can be set at 125hz. I have my sub-out crossed over at 80hz.

You don't need to use the SSF for a sealed box (but it doesn't hurt). For a ported box, set it ~5 - 10 hz below port tuning.

Set the LPF to were the mids & sub blend nicely by ear. The lower you can set it (while still blending with the fronts) the more the bass will appear up front, as the lower frequencies are less directional. ~80hz is a good generic # to start with.

kk ill try both 125 and 80 and see what it sounds like, with sub around 22 (since theres no hashes i have to guess :/)

thanks so much for you help guys!

so tones are better to sound the system with then music? makes sence. this is a dumb question, but tones are bass only arent they? (ive never used tones)
