Amp settings help

I had an sa-12 d4 on my saz 1500 at 2 ohms. I wanted louder so I got a zv.3 and gave it the 1500 at 1 ohm. The zv.3 definitely gets louder but I have to go way up on volume to do it, volumes I could never go to before. My sa-12 was loud at 35 volume and the zv.3 gets loud around 50.

Also the sa-12 sounded deeper to me, the zv3 is louder by far but it's like a higher bass. Want should I change settings wise?

Didn't change a thing haha. My gain is around half. What should I set at now?

Well running a sa @2 ohms on that amp and running a zv3 @1 should be quite a diffeence ..and full out put at 2 ohms isnt going to be same gain level as 1 ohm ..u need to at least set with a dmm ..need to match the output voltage on the headunit to the amp..theres no such thing as 1/4 1/2 or 3/4. way up ..its not a volume knob.also make sure ur lpf is around 80 and ssf is about 24-25...make sure sub volume is all the way up when doing this ..what kind of box is it in ? same as the sa?

I'll try that, I did it by ear with the sa and it sounded goood. I have a dmm though, I'll learn. Lpf and Ssf are near 80 and 30. The box is 2 cubes @ 33 hertz

Custom or prefab box ..yea do urself a favor and learn how to that stuff correct ..t will help u alot

Also check the terminals on the box make sure its reading around 1ohm

So just connect to the bolts? I have 2 bolts for terminals

ok it was the gain, it's pushing lots of air now

Can anyone explain why this sub sounds a lot louder to the ear, but the sa-12 on 750 shook stuff around my truck harder. The zv3 pushes air and sounds louder but it's not shaking change in the console like the sa did. And I'm double rms now
