wow its been a while since i visited the AQ website didn't know about the price changes. last i checked they were around the $220 area. the mb onyx 1000w amp would do the trick. can be found around 170 new

voice coils are getting hot ,either you are pushing too much power to it,a dirty signal ,or the box is way too big,i could get mine smelly and hot with a fosgate t 1000 .i just wasn't impressed with these subs so i sold them cheap.to me they just dont sound very good and for 200 each you can get better woofers

oh so thats what that is. because when i play higher around 42 & up it plays alot longer before heating up.

i dont see how its clipping tho. its on zx1000.1. and the amp gain is set about 1/2 way or little bit below 1/2

what size woofer tho ,and by the way all kicker products except the warhorse ,are and has been made in china for the last 3-4 years i believe.buy now all kicker stuff is made there = junk.voice coils getting hot can also be ,not very good cooper coils in the woofer.just aren't built like they used to be

its a 15" 06 model

amp is zx1000.1 06 model as well

either your electrical is not keeping up or you need to set the gains with a dmm,something is sending a clipping signal

i aint big on kicker either. i think its over price IMO. but for what i have in it aint bad

a power acoustik setup valued at 550 including box

for kicker set up value 675 + a custom box prolly valued at 175 it self lol

yea mos def. but im curious how the 152x mofos would have done in a good box with say 1300 rms to each of them. cus i admit they didnt sound bad.

and i gave them a beating individually with a sundown 2000d. i had a single 15 box so i hooked one up at a time.(HAD A SAZ2000 UNTIL IT WAS STOLEN) and honestly they took it like champs

Btw, your AP1500 you currently have is fine, but it's a bit too much power for that Kicker. so keep that in mind when setting your gains, and set them a bit low.

yea they aint bad. just kinda wish i had em back to see what they would do with a good box and amp. when i got em i had bamf 5500 wired to 2 ohm specs say

2500rms ( more like 1200rms maybe 600rms each lmao)... and my voltage ***** i was a "SUPER NOOB" lol.. still dont know alot though.
