Amp Selection Help

Hi, this is my first post so please bear with my noob ness:laugh:

I live in Australia and I own a 1990 Nissan 300ZX. I have started to purchase the components to make a nice system for it, not intended for comps but I would like a system that sounds really good and has power when I want it.

I have bought a set of Eclipse 3 way component speakers SC8365 which are rated to 100Watts RMS.

I have been looking at an Alpine MRV-F545 as a suitable amp to drive these and the 6X9" speakers in the rear.

Would this be a good choice for an amp or would someone have a better recommendation for around the same price around the US$400 area?

That amp will work fine. I recommend you do away with the rear 6x9's and instead bridge channels 3+4 of the F545 for 500W RMS and run a sub.

Rear fill tends to really mess up the soundstage and imaging. My opinion, but many others share this view and will recommend the same.

Someone else has also said along those lines of ditching the rears and go a sub. I was looking at a 10" for the boot (trunk). Another amp I have been looking into is the Soundstream TRA960.4 How does this amp compare with the Alpine? The main difference I see is the signal to noise ratio, what does this mean exactly?
