Since the temp started getting hotter here my amp has been acting up. I can only play the music loud for about 3 seconds before the bass completly cuts out for about 10 seconds, then it starts again. I assume this is cause from the 100+ weather and probably even hotter in my trunk (its a sedan so you can only imagine)

IF this is the cause of my problems, will building some kind of fan cooling rack above the amp help it cool down? Thanks!

yes but I don't see how its overheating in 3 seconds. before you start it up is the amp hot? what about right after it cuts out? check that and see because I doubt its getting that hot after 3 seconds. also what kind of amp is it?

like how hot to the touch? because I know when my amp overheats I can't even touch it. I don't see how a jl amp would be cutting out that fast. A fan system would help a lot but if its that hot before hand you will need to run an on off switch for it that away you can cool the amp off before hand. I would go buy one of those light switchs that go off automatically if they since zero movement for 15 min and use that as that would give you a safety valve in case you forget to turn it off. They are only like 15 dollars. to me it does you zero bit of good to have the fans come on at the same time as the amp if the amp is cutting out that fast.
