Amp restarting

What would cause an amp to reset itself? I have a kicker 400.1 amp running 2 12in Kenwoods in a truckbox. Sometimes if its all the way up, it shutsoff and turns back on, then when the bass goes to hit it turns off again and ect. It doesnt matter if its halfway or all the way up, its just random. So my question is; Could the amp not be getting enough power from the battery so it goes into protection mode?

I hooked my batt up to the charger, and turned the car on accesory, and the system worked fine.
