Amp repair

I'm going to try and take on an amp repair or two of my own. I've got a JBL BP1200.1 that jumps in and out of protect mode, and a kicker kx600.4 that stays in protect mode and never powers up.

What would you guys need to know to diagnose the problems with the amps?

hard to say what could be wrong with them..... open them up and take some pics of the boards.....
