Amp remote from audio presence

Is there an external gizzmo that will provide a remote signal when audio is present? I know some amps have that built in but mine doesn't and I want to avoid having to run a separate remote wire.

It's not the wire... it's ripping my dash apart to get to the HU harness that I want to avoid. You have no idea how painful that would be.

just use any wire that comes on with the ignition you do not have to use the remote wire from the radio.

this way the amp will turn on anytime you have the car on, not a big deal.

I had my last truck like that, ran it like that for 2 years.

Exactly. The easiest thing to do is go into your fuse box and find a fuse that has 12V on it only when the car is on. Then just take a small gauge wire and tap into that circuit for your remote signal.
