Amp questions

Figure out why it's going in to protect before lowering impedance. I would think that asking the amp to flow out more power isn't going to help it stay out of protect. I'm of the thought that you should figure what's wrong now before you change something.

 
The subs you have - are they dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm voice coils? If it's dual 4 and you have them wired down to 1ohm net impedance, that would make the amp go into protect mode. That amp is only stable down to 2ohms. Check the specs for your subs, I bet that you have them wired down to 1ohm.
