Amp question

I am fairly new to car audio, so this doesn't always make sense:

I have 2 Rockford Fosgate shallow r2s I'm about to order. I already have the box.

My main confusion is the OHMs, and what wattage amp I would need.

I can either grab two 2ohm subs or two 4ohm subs, what is the difference? Which would be better?

What wattage amp would I need for the two 2 ohms, or the two 4 ohms? Mono block would work for two subs, correct?

Someone please explain to me what I need, and why I need it. Thanks.

find the amp you want to buy with the right output (wattage) for the subs you want, if you're getting the 200 watt rms and you are buying two of them then you'll want an amp with an output of about 400 watts rms. now look at the specs of the amp you've chosen and look to see at what ohms it delivers the 400 watts. the same amps will have multiple ratings at different ohms. say it delivers 400w @ 2ohms then this is what you will use to select the ohms of the speakers, d2 or d4. look online and google speaker wiring options. you will find that 2 d2 speakers or 2 d4 speakers can be wired in various ways to get a desired ohm to the amp. you really have to be proactive and be willing to learn and do you're own research. some one is always here to answer questions but ppl are more willing to help those that they see are making thier own effort. good luck
