Alright, first to list my set up:
2014 Honda Civic LX
2 SA 12 D4's - 600w rms each 4 ohm wired to 1 ohm parallel
Skar Audio RP-1500.1D 1,500 Watts Class D Monoblock Subwoofer Amplifier
Pioneer DEH-X6700BT head unit
Running 4 gauge power and ground
12 gauge speaker wire, properly wired
The issue I've been having is my amplifier will go into protect mode if I have my subs turned up past half volume. This is a new issue as I've ran these subs for about 2 or 3 months straight in this set up without any issue. The amp comes out of protect mode if I turn the car off, or simply just turn the head unit off and back on.
I've done some trouble shooting, so I'll let you all know what I've done in case it'll help come to a conclusion.
I've resanded and cleaned my ground location.
I used a multimeter to determine if the ground was proper.
I measured the resistance across all fuses to ensure one wasn't damaged or blown.
I've measured the voltage to the amp while idle and while in use, which measured about 14v at idle, and at full power the voltage dropped to 12.44 volts and remained stable there, shortly after, the amp went into protect mode.
I rewired the subs to 2 ohms, the amplifier still goes into protect.
I'm running out of ideas. Anyone have any suggestions?
