amp powers up but no out put

i sold a hifonics brutus 1500w amp, and it worked before shipment. The buyer emailed me claiming that it will power up but have no output. he also says that the amp make noise to the beat of the song. what could the problem be? i suggested that when i unplugged the remote it was on a low or off setting nad that he may need the remote to turn up the output, is this right?
