Well I got a Rockford P400-4 as a gift from the GF //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Well the amp has no internal fuses.

Rockford states to use 4 ga wire with an 80amp fuse.

Well that sounds about right BUT

I have 8ga ran right now.

The birthsheet states 550rms~(like 551or 553 cant remember exact)

Well ohms law calulated out seems that 8ga would be ok 550/14.4= 38 amps

Now I now voltage will go up and down but the amp should not pull more than 50 amps right????

if you go with a smaller fuse, the only thing that would be damaged will be the fuse if it blew. my sub amp is rated at pulling 120amps. i have a 80 amp fuse on the power wire and havent had any problems.
