Powerbass +/-

What do yu all think about POWERBASS... i have seen there amps and subs in action... there amps are pretty good... however... there subs are really really bad, for lack of better words... A guy at a show to in south florida had a camaro with a power 4xl sub(its not even for retail yet) and a POWERBASS 4000 amp, with a 4 cube box... he did a 139.4... i'm normally not one to trash talk... but does he **** or is it the stuff he uses... what do you all think???

I stick with the older Powerbase xtremes, those fukers were mean SPL subs...

hes a local shop owner.. i would assume he know how to build a box... he says that he cut the bottom on the trunk area just to fit the box in... why do that for a shitty box.. btu you could be right...

his port was very small though... only maybe 12-15 inches or so

i would imagine that 4xl to need a much bigger box than that. the 3xl calls for either a 5 or 6 cubic foot box. im going to go with the install just sucked on that install. hell one of my older powerbass 12"s off a us amps 600 hit a 140.3 in a trunk car. then again i do have the powerbass subs from when they were still hardcore

he said the manufactor want 5 cube, but it wouldn't fit.. i just really don't get his port... i have a single 12 TSS and my port is almost 30 inches

Uh... the size of the box isn't everything.

A smaller box allows for more control of the cone with higher power range.

A smaller box with more power will do more dBz than a bigger box with less power.

yes the older stuff was better.. they have really messed up over the past few years now...
