Amp power question

Would it be a bad idea if I powered these speakers:

Polk db651 6.5" Coaxial Speaker - 60 RMS - 180 Peak

&

Polk 6" x 9" Speakers - 100 RMS - 300 Peak

with a Profile AP1040 - 80 x 4 @ 4 ohms?

Yes, the Profile would work just fine.

As for using a Profile amp or Pioneer amp, I wouldn't use either!

Headroom is preferred & you'd be fine w/ that amp. Profile is a decent budget amp.

Doubtful. And just because an amp claims X amount of watts...doesnt always mean its true. Also just because an amp has X amount of watts on tap...doest mean you need to use it (gain settings are your friend...know them)

It's safe to say that Kenwood is a good, reliable amp. Right?

Spending $300 for an amplifier to run a couple of coaxials is a little excessive.

You'd be fine with the Profile. They are pretty reliable entry level amplifiers.

You know.. for all those out there that are thinking about profile amps.. I used to run 2 Visonik 10 Crutchfield Specials at one point, off a 600M Profile, also ran 2 Infinity Referance and then 2 JBL 12" GT Series.. I have never had any problem from them and quite frankly they not only stood the test of power but sat side by side with RockFord and Kicker Amps pushing the same power..

Clean power, no distortion what so ever and lasted me 2 hard core abusive years untill i sold it and from what i hear its still pounding those JBL subs i sold.. just as good as the day i bought them..

As for their loud speakers, I wouldnt waste my money on the higher end amps.. Buy a profile, get the power you need and save some money and take the differance and get you a good head unit, after all what makes or break the SQ is the head unit output..

amps just reproduce that power.. I to this day still have a profile running my high and midranges and they are crystal clear..
