i was lookin for 1000 watts, but if i can get 1500 for a couple dollars more i figured i can keep the gain way down
No you won't. You'll get a 1.5kw amp, and start with the gain down, but then turn it up a little more, and a little more, and a little more...until you smoke that sub.

Was gonna say it doesn't hurt to have more power than you're actually using, but then I read this and I agree.. This is probably what will happen lol.

 
Class a/b amps are usually larger and aren't as efficient as class d amps, but generally sound better. Go with the DSC1500 instead of the 1000 - you'll get more for your money. In this situation, you won't be able to hear a difference based on the class.

any1 agree you wont be able to hear a diff in sq bewteen the 1000a/b and the 1500 D
