is anyone cheap??? like what do you think is a good price to get this fixed? and will it take weeks?

If that is a bad power supply fet you are going to have to replace all of the power supply fets whether or not they appear to be bad.They are in parallel so they were all subjected to the same abuse. It would be a good idea to check all the gate resistors too as they may be out of tolerance as well but you won't get an accurate reading out of those unless you pull all the the ps fets from the board. There may be other power supply damage as well.I hate to tell you this but blown ps fets more often than not go hand in hand with blown fets in the output section. If that is the case you may as well pay that 135 flat rate fee to have it repaired.

if they sold it to you as working then I would get my money back or at least a portion of it. It isn't set in stone that the outputs are gone but it does happen fairly often. if it is just the power supply you may be able to have it repaired for under 100 depending on the number of parts involved.there is no real way for somebody to quote you an exact price without having it in front of them because that is the only way to know the extent of the damage. somebody who does this on a regular basis may be able to give you a ballpark figure though

ya ima get a few prices to get it fixed. he said he played it for 10 minutes before he mailed it out...i will get him to pay shipping each way and $ for the repair. or just send me the money back... now im worried if the other one works...nothing is burnt on it...

Your best bet will be sending it to soundstream. Price depends on what parts are used, and how many of each are used plus the labor of the repair when you send it to a repair center. Soundstream will probably just send you a referbed amp or swap the board out for a different referb.

small class A/B amps are easy and cheap to work on..

i dont think my rates are that bad.... of course ,muti kilowatt amps are not going to be cheap to fix. (i replace ALL the parts in that section of the amp, even if the one right beside the bad parts are good) i dont half *** them like most places do...

*example*--if i have to change out 120 parts on one 5kw amp. and the parts bill is 200.00. you bet you a$$, i amp not going to charge only 50.00 for the hours it took to change everything out.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif more like 180.00... and that's still cheaper than most places would charge you ..

this amp has worked great in my experience. it would work great for some 6x9s or something
