Amp overloads when both VC hooked up

I just bought some new Legacy 1049 DVC 10" Subs. They are pretty sweet, but here's my problem. I have wired them in both parallel and serial and hooked them to my amp, but my amp overloads/thermal light comes on and they do not make any sound. My amp is a Scosche 550watt amp, 2 channel. Here is my question. My amp is two channel so I have two sets of pos and neg hookups. I can also hook up one neg and one pos to bridge them. Supposedly the amp is 2ohm stereo stable. So my box that the subs are in has two pos and two neg hookups on it. Many of the diagrams that show how to wire things up look like they end up having one set of pos and neg connections. Does that mean I should hook both pos and neg pairs together into one set of pos and neg on my amp? Should I put them into the ones marked bridge? I've tried many scenarios and nothing seems to work, except for hooking one voice coil on each speaker up to one set of pos and neg. This works, but i'm only using half the speaker, and that's pointless. I think i've tried it about every way possible and anytime both vc's are hooked up it instantly overloads/thermals and doesn't work. Should I provide more details, a drawing, what would help in figuring out what is wrong with my setup?

Thanks in Advance!

Robert

It would help to have a DMM and make sure the subs' coils are connected parallel to each terminal cup and that the impedance at each cup is around 2 ohms, but assuming that is the case you just want to wire it straight up -- one channel per terminal cup w/o bridging the amp.

If you've tried that w/o success I'd say there's either a wiring problem inside the box, or a problem with the amp.

I work in topeka and I'm out and about quite a bit - might be able to help you out sometime if you want.

I will post a drawing of the two way i've had it hooked up... I don't think i'm bridging the amp, but I guess someone can confirm that after I post a picture.

I appreciate that, I will send you a message about seeing if you want to check it out in person. I attached a couple drawings I made I think they represent what i've tried.

Right now, i've got one voice coil on each sub hooked up to each channel and it does work okay, but i'm assuming i'm only using half the subs full potential.

What do you think?
