amp over heating?

hi i have two crunch amps one 900 watt just for my sub and a 1400 watt for my other speakers. and whenever i play my music too loud or too long my subwoofer just stops. I have a memphis mojo 15" sub. what can i do to prevent this from happening?
you are either under powering the amp causing heat build up or your running at a very low impedance load causing the amp to heat up quickly as the efficiency has dropped, try running the sub wired to a different (higher) ohm load if possible if not try backing off the gain a bit.

what should i do so heat doesn't build up...hooking up my sub to different amp isnt to easy i would just buy a new one then. but how can i keep it from overheating.
look at the voice coil config if it's dual 2 and your running at 1ohm change it to 4ohm and you will notice it won't be as loud but the amp will run cold and not pull near as much current, but there really are a ton of factors that play into all this such as battery wiring alt amp mounting position/location, in short we need to know everything in your car and how it's wired to properly figure out what's wrong right now we're all guessing!

this is how i am set up

not to jack the thread, but i am having the same problem with my rf t1000bdcp. i did a wire upgrade to 0/1 knu cca and the amp still gets warm/hot. big three is done in 0/1 as well. my gain is at about 1/3 and no bass boost from amp or loudness swtting on hu. it was running a rf t2 12 in a ported box, changed to a mb q pwe354, amp does not get as warm/hot, both subs set at 2ohms.

The older fan cooled model or the new one? my older fan cooled model would not even got warm a 1ohm on a T2 15", OP I think your main problem is that your running a class a/b amp on sub duty, does it play hard for about 30min then shut down until it's cooled off?

it has never shut off, i thought the bdcp were class d amps. it is the new one. i have not been able to locate a h/o alt so i upgraded all the poer/ground wire to 0/1 and a optima red top up front, not a lot of space for a mega batt had to adjust batt connections to fir the r/t.
