amp on box mounting

having problems finding room for my sub amp (ppi pc2350). i've heard not to mount them on the box but i'm running out of options. in the extended cab of the s-10 the mount for the jack eliminates mounting on the back wall. i'd rather not put it on the floor. the xtant will be mounted on the back wall, which was formerly under the box (box is downfired, so the space was there underneath).
