amp on bass goes quiet

ok i have a cheap volfenhag amp w/ 2 db meters at the top of it.a couple days ago it was playing fine and the meters worked w/ the bass. now when i turn it on my subs mke this thump sound and the meter goes as high as it can and stays there and the bass in the subs is kind of quiet. i just checked my wiring and ground and everything was fine. i even used like a 2 inch ground wire to see if it helped. didnt help a thing. i need help guys.

Its a volfenhag... what do you expect. I call the amp bad.

both of you are correct. i stopped at my local car audio store Cartunes and they tested it and its fried. so im using my old optimus amp for the time being.
