i wired the amp to battery positive with a fuse then grounded it. Hooked up everthing else but it wont recieve any power. I am in the middle of doing the big 3 but havnt finished could this cause the problem.

Here is all the wirings im doing

1. sub to amp

2. amp to battery positive(fused)

3. amp to hu(rca)

4. alt positive to battery positive

5. chassis to engine block

6. battery negative to chassis

is there any conections i missed

first 3 are all hooked up but when i touch the amps ground to the chassis it doesnt spark but when i touch it to the power cable it oes does anyone kno what this means.

At first I was wondering if your amp was grounded - then I saw the end of your post. If the amp isn't trying to be on then touching the ground connection to your ground point it won't spark - it's not trying to draw any current so there wont be anything to make it spark.

What I don't see is a connection to the remote activation circuit on the amplifier - which is what tells it to turn on. It needs that as well as power and ground to operate.

Additionally if you're touching a cable that is connected to the ground input on the amplifier to something which is carrying live 12v current then that is decidedly a bad idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif Doing such a thing can never lead to a happy ending...

If you sent 12v positive current racing up the ground input for the amplifier then it wouldn't necessarily blow any fuses before it got to something inside the amp and toasted it. (if that is what happened at all and I have no way of knowing if it is or not from here)

what exactly is that there was a remote wire on my hu amd then a remote port on my amp but it is like a telephone cable wire ending do i need 2 buy a remote or something. Please elablorate i dont kno anything about remotes

I usually use 16 Gauge wire. The Remote turn on lead runs from your head unit, the blue wire or could be blue/white, to your amp. The remote turn on lead is usually labeled as REM on your amp. I believe they are usually inbetween the power and ground on your amp. Once you have this hooked up, turn on your HU and it should turn on your amp if you wire it properly. I hope this helps.

Is that really all it was? The remote activation wire wasn't even hooked up?

*quickly reviews his first post in this thread that was obviously ignored*
