Amp not turning on

I have a 1600 watt amp, and it was working fine for about 2 weeks, and then i got into the school parking lot, and went to turn down the gain..i turned them down and then got back in the car and went to hit the next button, and then the cd player restarted...the deck has been doing this for a while, im guessing it has a problem with attaching and detaching the face plate, well when the cd player turned back on my amp did not.

I have checked everything, the fuse under the hood is fine, the amp fuse is fine, all the connections is good and the connection with the remote behind the deck is also good. I have no idea what the problem is, please help me

Use a short jumper wire from your remote input on your amp to the + on your amp. This will verify if the amp has gone bad. If the amp powers up you need to find a source within the fusebox to run a new remote wire from, b/c the remote from the HU is bad...or cut somewhere.

im going to replace the whole remote wire tomorrow, and see if that was the problem, i just want to see what all could have happend..

How could the amp go bad just when the cd player cut out?

I wasn't saying it was the HU that caused the amp to go bad. I'm just suggesting you start eliminating possibilities. As stated above, if the amp powers on, you can eliminate the amp going bad (for whatever reason). If it doesn't, time for a new amp.
