Amp not coming on...ground, remote turn on?

Hey I took my friends Hifonics 1500 out of his explorer to test it in my car which we just wired up. The amp would not come on, I checked the power wire, fuse is fine, and is connected to battery fine so shouldnt be that....if there is a bad amp ground, would this keep the amp from even turning on? And I guess I need to check the remote turn on...but im positive it is connected to the turn on wire of my Alpine HU...what do you think...ground? ...or turn on?

Yes, that would keep the amplifier from turning on.

Check the REM wire, double check the ground, make sure all the connections (on the amp, etc) are good....maybe disconnect and reconnect them all. Double check all the fuses.

Alright get a volt tester... Test to make sure you have AT LEAST 12 VOLTS AT THE BAT+ wire. Then check the remote, but when you check the remote make sure the deck is on. :wink: After you get all that checked out, if its fine. Move your ground man. That seems like THE biggest problem for why sutff doesn't work, for me at least... Let me know how it goes...

be sure to check your remote, it may not be sufficiently connected to the HU, your power and ground are probably fine, but to be sure check the ground for a solid bare metal connection.

Fixed, it was a bad ground. Found a new one and the amp comes on fine...now to the new question about TTsquared's amp not working...no signal to the subs, I am going to make a new thread about it..
