got me a mtx 1501d used for 300 is that a good deal and what iu need 2 powere it will the big 3 and 2 4 gage going 2 the amp be enof 2 get 14.4 volts or should i add a next batery
Ive actually seen that amp brand new on ebay for that same price, but o well. The best thing to do to ensure maximum voltage will be an alternator upgrade. That amp is quite abit underated, and will be pushing atleast 1700watts. Ide use atleast 2 gauge wire.
300 is a good price, much lower than retail. i hope you have a real MTX warranty tho - id hate to see it break (for some ungodly reason) and you be out $300 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
Buying another battery will do you no good. It will just put more strain on your alternator, since it would have to charge 2 batterys. A cap should help out a bit though with some dimming issues. Your really going to need to consider an alternator upgrade. YOu may want to save up for it, because its probably the best investment you can do for your system. You will definately have some big current draw with that amp.
