If you're making something out of fiberglass, that's what gives it substance. It's the 'fiber' if you will. It's not extremely necessary in this case, but yes, it would add strength

To late. Zapco blew, JL needed to sell to get the 4 channel, found the other for a good price.

You can also just buy some 45min Epoxy and mix it with Alcohol. Just mix it 50/50 and it will soak in. Then lay a second coat with chopped fiber.

Makes 1/2" as strong as 3/4"

I did this with Balsa wood on my RC Plane in the servo tray area. Let some peep fly it and you thought right. Flew it straight Into the ground. The only thing intact was the servo compartment.

OK, I just looked under to where they would be mounted and its carpeted as well. Should have know this earlier. Would the resin still work or am I better off going with a thin metal bracket that would support it?
