amp mount in trunk???

OK so im sure this has been asked tons of time but im having trouble finding someone in a similar situation as me. Im doing an install for my GF and i was going to mount the amp to the back of the seat (2010 scion TC) when i got bitched at by her pops due to the car being on a lease. So no holes can be drilled. i dont want to put the amp on the sub box so anyone have some creative ideas as to where i can put it so i can get this done and make the woman happy and keep her pops of my ***?

You may want to consider cutting a 1/2 or 3/4 inche piece of plywood and carpet it and mount the amp to the board to keep it from sliding around...if its not a big system the amp can be mounted to the sub box ...by isolating the mounting points to absorb shock...you can use rubber bushings...

If you use Velcro it will be needed to mount to the trunk carpet not the seat...you can buy the thicker velcro in the hobby section at Wal-Mart

One of my friends with a tC put the amp for his sub in the spare tire area- he said it was squished securely by the foam in there or something. Is that an option?

If not, is underseat an option?

make sure it's the industrial verlcro, the white stuff. i use it in my peterbilt to hold my xbox, to my micrwave, and my microwave on top of my fridge. and my ipod to my dash. i only cut it up in squares and the shyt is strong as hell.

underseat is out... and did he have problems with it overheating? did he have to lose the spare?

I think the velcro idea is going to get you the best results. If you mount it in the tire well, its prolly not going to hold as well as you think. I mounted my crossovers to the carpet in my trunk with industrial velcro I picked up at a local hobby shop called Micheals, just make sure it says industrial, and when you stick it, be sure thats where you want it because if you coat the whole bottom in that stuff it's going to be hard to pull it back up

this.. under 1k watts i dont see it hurting the amp,.. maybe put a thin piece of rubber or material under it and definately be good

me too. hard to imagine velcro being that strong

I've used the velcro before and one time I cut up my hands from pulling so hard trying to remove powered sub from carpet.

But about the spare area- no I believe he did not lose the spare; it is between the passenger side taillight and the middle of the trunk underneath the trunk floor. He hasnt mentioned any overheating issues.
