Amp kicks off when subs play at low volume

I have a kicker zx750.1 amp with 2 kicker cvrs. I noticed today that when I play my subs I have to play them loud otherwise the amp just shuts off by itself. Is there any reason for this? I can't play my subs at low volume otherwise the amp keeps shutting off, but when I turn the sound up they are fine.
