amp keeps going into protect.

My amp keeping going from protect to not. I check the remote wire but jumping it off the + powerwire and it still does it.Wondering what the problem is. I disconected the sub from it to rule out that it was blown. Ive tried 2 different spots for a ground and it still keeps hopping back and forth. Is It the amp blown? or do i realy have a shitty ground?
