amp keeps going in protect

it seems pretty obvious that ya'lls amps are going into protect due to low voltage. get new/bigger/more batters, big 3, new alt, better grounds... kickers protection circuitry kicks on pretty easily i've seen... upgrade your electrical system...

i heard someone mention that typerbass guy who ran 4 2500.1s at 1 ohm... did you also mention how he had a huge bank of hc2400s and a HO alt and multiple multiple runs of 1/0?

lol, the point of mentioning 4 2500.1's running @ 1 ohm was to prove a point that they can be ran @ 1 ohm. not that you can run 4 2500.1's off a stock electrical... people have said that some 2500.1's will run @ 1 ohm while others will not. so i mentioned that i find it funny that typerbass can run 4 of them all at 1 ohm without a problem.

as for the rest, try a better ground maybe. i did and it seems to have solved the problem, for now at least. knock on wood.

still thinking about that solder note mentioned by zthumper.

the reason people say they will not is because the very large majority of people who run them do not have upgraded batteries, alternators and all those other goodies. really, the only thing restricting how low an amp can be run at (besides internal protection devices) is not having the current to feed it. some amps, like the 2500.1 draw tons of amperage at lower than recommended resistances and that's why most people can't run them lower than 2 ohms. and some people ask more from their amps than others.... how long and loud they are being ran at plays a roll as well since they are obviously going to heat up quicker at a lower impedance and then thermal protect comes on. not to mention placement in the vehicle for airflow, and ambient temperatures, a/c, summer months, winter...???

you are generalizing by saying they "can" be ran at whatever impedance, and others are generalizing by saying you can't. and bottom line is that you cannot assume or generalize anything in car audio because of the hundreds upon hundreds of variables which vary from install to install...
