Amp keeps getting warm?

I have two memphis 2ks with a kinetic hc2400 run to each of them. The gains and everything are exactly the same for both amps however one of them always gets way hotter than the other. After only one song the amp in question is warm to the touch yet the other is still cold? What could be the cause of this?

not all amps are thermally the same. most of the time when an amp uses a heat sink on there amps they connect the board to the sink using ceramic plates and like materials. mabye the plates are different batches or theres something not right internal withthe amp. but they will typically not disapate heat the same way. memphis amps are rock solid amps dude. if its just warm and not "hot" you will be fine.

justyn93 is right though. make sure you hae a good ground. and when possible use the same ground for both amps. you may have a ground loop if you ar using seperate grounds. you wouldnt hear it in a class d amp so you never know.

electricity travels in the path of least resistance at all time. this will never change. thus you want to use the same ground as much as possible. have you ever seen under a dash or in a kick panel where there are a bunch of wires connected to the same ground? this is why. you can always tell the health ofa ground by ohm testing the ground where the amp is and the neg terminal on the battery. which ever is least resistance use that location.
