You are lucky you didn't ground out your battery while driving. I had a real smart friend run his under the car and his shit melted to the exhaust! Car was dead for a little while.

just tring to have fun not be a ***. i get lazy from time to time shit wont get done but never not safe. it will cost you in the long run. i have had plenty of cars in my shop with the wire ran like that and i get a lol every time. i have seen it with the wire melted in 2 also cause they dont use a fuse...

i say reverse polarity or theres a short in your electrical circuit somewheres

That's def your problem. Get that replaced. Don't re-use it. Having that bad spot will cause other problems in the future. It might be ok with a patch job for a shirt while, but don't be lazy. Just do it right.
