Amp is on Fire !!

well not really but its really hot

i hooked everything up drove for about 2 hours pumping the hell out of it..

sounds REALLY good

the amp is digital i can see the temp, volts, and all that

now the amp Got REALLY HOT it almost burned my finger touching it, the Temp went up to 15F, 60c

which is really hot

I think it has somethin to do with my deck its piece of shit but i wanted a flip screen badly

its a jensen VM9410 7in''

Now I think it got hot because of the gain i had it set to 4volts

Gain goes from .2 to 4.0 V

anything OVER 2V almost had no bass coming out of the sub and going from 1 to .2 is 20X diffrence thats why i had it set to to .2 when it was at its loudest

Any idea why ?

Also the EQ Hz goes from 400 to 30hz

the higher the Hz the louder the sub is i had it set to 400hz

right now i had it lowered to 40Hz but now my bass is cut down 10x

is this right it seems stranger that the lower the V (gain) the louder and the higher the Hz the louder the bass

any idea will help alot

MY guess its the pre outputs on the headunit making my amp work really hard for the power but i am not sure

anyways no this had happend with my old system as well after i had this deck intsalled

the other amp got really hot too at the time i thought maybe ill downgrade

but i guess it was the deck all along

the deck has Preamp Voltage 2 volts

baba i said where the gain is..

its an alpine . gain is set to half but hardly any bass it goes from .2 to 4v... i have it set at 2 now but had it at 4 and it was crazy loud

the VC worked great

sounded REALLY NICE drove for about 2 hours pumping no problems at all sounded even better then my old diamond D912 800rms sub powered my memphis 1100rmx x1
