Amp internally paralleled

I have a Powerbass XA-1500d pushing 2 12" Powerbass 2xl dual 4ohm subs. Ok the amps outputs are internally paralleled and the speaker's impedence is divided between both output connections. Thats what the card says that came with the amp. The amp is 1 ohm stable i need the subs to be wired for everything to run at 1ohm. Supposedly everything is wired right ( what the guys at the car audio shop said) but my amp keeps going into protect. I can ride around playing maybe 2 full songs and the amp goes into protect. Can anyone help me out please?

First mistake was trusting what the guys at the car audio shop said //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There's a wiring guide on this forum, that'll show you exactly how to wire to the impedance you need...with 4 ohm DVC's, you'll be wiring the voice coils in parallel so each is a two ohm load, and then again in parallel to get down to one.

well you cant get lower then 1 ohm with those sub's so that doesnt explain why your amp is going into protect. have you checked all of your grounds make sure nothing is shorting. what awg wire are you using, you could be starving your system of juice. what vehicle is this in, what size alt and battery?

Stock alt and batt in a 99 grand am gt 4ga wire. Just found out that the fuse under the hood is blown and supposedly my amp is blown now too but the fans are still running....really frustrated... oh and i still have to check to see if the subs are wired wrong or not

i'm taking my car back to the shop that installed my system monday morning so i should find out whats going then. Its just funny to me how none of these a**holes thought to check to see if things were wired right in the first place.

Well it turns out that everything was wired right but the amp is blown. I'm getting a brand new one no problem since I did purchase it from an authorized dealer. I did find out that even tho the manual, the box the amp comes in and the Powerbass tech says that the amp is 1ohm stable it isnt. The amp is stable at 2ohms.

Trey has a powerbass xa3000 and it would sometimes go into protect after playing for a while, im guessing it was becuase voltage drop when he had it hooked to only 1 batt, didnt happen with 2 batts. and he had it @ 1 ohm too i believe.

either way its broken 2 times lol, powerbass FTL.

lol yea i've read about the xa-3000 and pieces falling off the board and everything. I thought about seeing if getting a second battery would help but the amp ended up blowing b4 I test that out. Either way once I get the new one I'll probably just sell it and get the memphis 1000d.
