ok, i installed my L7 and, i was playing it lud and, i noticed that my rpms dropped a couple hundred. the lights in the cab dimmed and, my head lights dimmed. i have heard that caps do and, dont work. i do have one in my room, laying around. i do not have the big 3 done. my qestions are, should i go ahead and, order a new alt. or, how about a yellow top? i just have a regular old battery in there now. should i replace it with a yellow top or maybe get two yellow tops? new alt? i dont have a ton of cash so yea.

thanks for the help.

i think ill do the 2nd battery then new alt. this brings across another question. with a 2nd battery i know my the frsit battery i run a positive to the new one. now do i run a newgative to the first to second? then go ahead and hook up my ground or, do i need to run the negative between the batteries?

U want ur negative on the main one grounded (hopefully u did big 3 already). Then run a 2nd cable from the negative on the main battery to the 2nd bat. Or if u dont have the space to run a 2nd line from ur main bat u can just ground the 2nd one somewhere else.

Also dont just get the 2nd bat. Make sure ur ready to get a new alt as well. Unless ur playing ur music realtivly low alot.

will i notice a difference in performance? such as it being louder clearer?
Should, because when ur lights dims it means there's a voltage drop. So with everything grounded and the upgrade ur amp should be seeing a current thats alot more constant, so it would be able to put out a more power cuse the voltage isnt dropping. I can't really say if it'll be louder or clearer, but ur amp should be putting out more power where ur voltage use to just drop.
