Amp install problem

A quick question.

I was making the battery connections for my amp (Pioneer GM-4300F) and I got an arc when I tried to reconnect the negative battery cable. After some checking there is a small current draw from the amp even when it's not on. This current draw remains even when all the connections except the battery connections are removed.

Is this normal for an amp?

Thanks.

Thats just the circuit being completed to the amp. Yes, its perfectly normal. But you're supposed to take out the fuse in the power wire before making connections. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks for the input. That's a relief. I've been installing this system by myself as I couldn't afford to pay an installer and I thought I'd have to send the amp back. I see now how they earn their keep!
