okay so im looking to mount my amp in the spare tire hole and was wondering if any of you have done this and what kind of materials i should use. i was thinking some mdf with foam under amp to protect from vibrations et cetera but unsure of how to attach it. up for suggestions on how to do it/ pics of others similar instals thanks in advance.

just build an amp rack and mount the rack then put the amp on it and how well does that 5500 work does it do rated im thinkin of gettin one
i highly doubt im getting rated, but im on stock eletrical w/o big 3 and using some 4 ga wire. i set gains with a dmm and on a 50 hz tone i was able to get 90+ volts... needed 78 for rated @ 2 ohms i think i set it up right? ive heard they dont do rated but im very happy with price to performance. my sub is dual 4 ohm wired to 2 with the tc sounds 3 hp motor supposed to handle 2500 watts and it powers it very well. (of course it was built by robot uderground guy and he has some bad rep so not sure there)

on a 20 hz test tone it shakes the **** outta my dash and seats //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

bump also i might want to include some way of having batteries mounted on same rack in future would this be too difficult? the spare tire is a donut so not too sure if there will be much room... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Ive done it several times and had no problems so far. I usually mount them on a piece of mdf. Car electronics were designed to be used in high vibration enviroments, no need for foam or anything. However with that lower end amp i might be a bit more worried with it, not insulting your equipment or anything just saying. Also make sure that theres no moisture in the tire well, i see it gets in there alot somehow.
