puzzling engine noise problem

just got a new setup for my 94 camaro. i got 2 10inch tube subs in the back that hit like a beast. new clarion radio. small amp that works for the 10's its a 250 watt kenwood. my system includes 4 door speakers hooked to the head unit, 2 subs hooked to my amp and a tottal of 8 tweeters hooked to my amps second input.

its loud as hell and works great, however.. i get a very very loud engine whine when i turn the car on.. it ONLY comes out of the tweeters ( no unordinary noise out of the subs )

the part that i dont get. is that even if i unplug the rca's (which are over 2 feet from the amps power wire ) the tweeters still buzz like theres no tomorow. i have checked all grounds, rca cables are new and sheilded. head unit is grounded fine.

i think its an amp problem, but im puzzled as to how in the world the tweeters buzz but not the subs.

any input you guys?

The subs aren't buzzing because the crossover on them blocks the high frequenceis.

But 8 tweeters and 2 10" are way too much for that amp. If the 8 tweeters are 4 ohms and all are hooked in parallel, then you're running that amp at .5 ohms which is very bad.

Can't imagine why you would need that many tweeters anyway.....

well i got all the equipment free, and the tweeters work great in that amp. (altho i do notice a bit of studder in the subs when i turn the volume up really loud.) which means your right there isnt enough power going to them,.. but would that account for the tweeters humming like they do?

and what size amp would u recommend?

oh and i got that many cuz.. well.. i like the dynamic vocals lol. it sounds great it really does. at least when the cars off an theres no humming coming out of those tweeters
