amp in protect

i just got a pa a3000db and hooked it up. as soon as i turned it up the subs would cut out as the bass hit (ie. quickly go into and out of protection).

now the amp is stuck in protect mode (red light flashes whenever it is on).

wiring is ok, it works fine for my other amp. subs are two dvc 4 ohms wired to 1 ohm (cannot be wired lower). gains were set to 1600W w/DMM.

any ideas on how to get it out of protect?

(tried unhooking it, didn't do anything)

help?

any normal tricks for getting amps out of protect?

i have the rca's, speaker wire, and ground disconnected overnight, i'll see if that does anything.

i wish i would have just gotten a sundown //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

if i exchange this one, i'm going to be spending nearly as much after all the shipping costs!

where do you have your gains set at

mentioned that in my original post.

40V output into a 1 ohm load for approx. 1600W. shouldn't be a problem for the amp.
